where have all the pickle gone?

I tried to look up the Steinfelds pickle factory in North Portland the other day. I helped start that plant up in around 1978. Things had changed in the area and I could not find the factory, ran out of time and had to run. Looked it up yesterday on google maps, come to find plant is closed, and then read a blog from a Steinfeld family person that the plant had beed sold, shut down, then bull dozed. Now Steinfelds and Nalley's are made in India of all places!! So much for Ma, apple pie, and good ol American home cookin and traditions. Makes me want to hurl!
